- Climate zone selection confirmed against your actual location, not just guessed from general region
βBefore Purchasing Equipment+-
- An ACCA Manual J load calculation obtained from a licensed HVAC contractor before purchasing equipment
- Confirmed each indoor head isn't being oversized "to be safe"
- Indoor head(s) and outdoor unit confirmed as an actual AHRI-certified matched combination, not mixed-and-matched by BTU total alone

- Refrigerant line brazing/connection, vacuum/charge work, AND connecting/disconnecting any pre-charged quick-connect line set confirmed performed by an EPA Section 608-certified technician

- Insulation quality assessed honestly rather than defaulting to Average without checking
- Sun/window exposure selection checked PER ZONE against that room's actual window count, size, and orientation
- Ceiling height entered for the actual room, not left at the 8 ft default β especially for a vaulted or cathedral-ceiling zone

- An ACCA Manual J load calculation obtained from a licensed HVAC contractor before purchasing equipment
- Confirmed each indoor head isn't being oversized "to be safe"

- Refrigerant line set length and elevation change between indoor and outdoor units checked against the specific system's maximum rated length

- Indoor head mounting height and clearance (from ceiling, walls, and any obstruction to airflow) confirmed against the manufacturer's installation manual
- Wall penetration for the line set sealed and sloped correctly (slightly toward the outdoor side) to prevent water intrusion
- Condensate drain line confirmed sloped and clear, with a condensate pump installed where gravity drainage isn't possible
- Refrigerant line brazing/connection, vacuum/charge work, AND connecting/disconnecting any pre-charged quick-connect line set confirmed performed by an EPA Section 608-certified technician
βInstallation & Safety+-
- Outdoor unit electrical disconnect installed within sight of the unit, sized for its actual amperage draw
- Indoor head mounting bracket confirmed secured to structural framing (studs) rather than drywall/plaster alone
- Outdoor unit placement confirmed with adequate clearance for airflow, service access, and away from dryer vents or excessive debris
- Line set vacuum-tested (evacuated and held) before refrigerant charge is released, not skipped to save time
βAfter Installation+-
- System startup/commissioning performed by the installer, verifying refrigerant charge and airflow against manufacturer spec for each zone
- Remote control/thermostat (and WiFi app, if equipped) tested for each zone independently before considering the job complete
- Filter cleaning schedule established for each indoor head, not treated as a one-time installation
