Sod / Turf Calculator Formula: How Is It Determined?
Lawn area combines with a waste allowance into an order area, which then converts into a roll, pallet, or slab count.
Step 1 — Lawn Area
By Dimensions: Area = Length x Width
By Total Area: Area = entered value (converted to sq ft if entered in m²)
Either enter a rectangular lawn's length and width, or enter its total area directly — useful for an irregular lawn where length x width doesn't apply.
Step 2 — Order Area
Order Area = Lawn Area x (1 + 5% cutting/edge waste)
