Wall Area = Length × Height

Step 2 — Effective Block Size

Effective Length = Block Length + Mortar Thickness

Step 4 — Add Wastage Allowance

Adjusted (Recommended) Blocks = Theoretical Blocks + Wastage Blocks

Both the theoretical count and the wastage allowance are rounded up separately to whole blocks, since blocks can only be purchased as whole units. Because of this two-step rounding, the final recommended quantity can differ slightly from simply multiplying the unrounded total by (1 + Wastage %).
